On 13 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with Ararat Mirzoyan, President of the National Assembly of Armenia, who was visiting Lithuania. The politicians continued their discussion that began in Yerevan a few weeks ago on the reform process in Armenia, its cooperation with the European Union, and the security situation in the South Caucasus.

On 12 May, during his official visit to Italy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See in Vatican. During the conversation, the interlocutors welcomed intensive and fruitful relations between Lithuania and the Holy See.

On 11-12 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is paying an official visit to Italy, where he met with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio to discuss bilateral relations, security situation in the region, relations with Russia and China, the situation in Belarus, Ukraine and the South Caucasus, the Eastern Partnership initiative, the EU enlargement, and the fight against the pandemic.

On 30 April in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis completed his official visit to the South Caucasus. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister was received by the President Ilham Aliyev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, who co-chaired the Lithuania-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation together with Landsbergis. The officials of both countries discussed prospects of strengthening bilateral relations, preparations for the next Eastern Partnership summit scheduled for the autumn, the region's security situation and other issues of international policy.

On 28 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis continued his official visit to the states of the South Caucasus. In Tbilisi, Georgia, Landsbergis held meetings with the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Speaker of the Parliament Kakhaber Kutchava, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani.

On 27 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis, together with the Acting Minister of Environment of Armenia Romanos Petrosyan, inaugurated a green space “The Lithuanian Forest” in Lori Province, Armenia, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Armenia.

On 26 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is visiting Yerevan, where he was received by the highest officials of Armenia, including the President Armen Sarkissian, the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and the Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, and discussed possibilities for expanding Lithuania’s cooperation with Armenia, as well as prospects for strengthening Armenia’s relations with the European Union. The meetings also focused on the security situation in the region.

On 25 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is departing for the South Caucasus. This will be the Foreign Minister's first official visit to Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, where he will meet with top officials and representatives of civil society to discuss possibilities for further development of Lithuania’s relations with the South Caucasian states, their prospects of cooperation with the European Union, and will express support for reform processes in the countries of the region.
